RISE - Rewarding Investments Smart Education - the Movement - this is a Movement for us as Women. Our community is built on the principles of inclusivity and education. We offer diverse membership tiers, organize networking events, and provide a wealth of educational resources to ensure our members are well-equipped to make informed investment decisions.
At RISE, we foster collaborative investment decisions, prioritize investments that align with impactful causes, and work closely with industry experts to enhance our members' understanding of investment strategies.
Our History
Fourteen years ago, I was appointed Managing Director of an investing network. I immediately saw a glaringly obvious gap that no one else seemed to be commenting on. Nearly everyone in the network was male. And this trend only perpetuated itself as existing members brought more men into the fold. So I asked myself, where are the women? When I began searching for the answer, I came across some alarming statistics:
▸ While women and men share financial decision making such as budgeting and paying bills, only 46% of women feel they have influence when it comes to investing. They usually default to their husband or partner on these decisions.
▸ 94% of women believe they will have to manage their finances on their own at some point in their lives. Yet, only 28% of women feel empowered to do so.
▸ 55% of women prefer to learn about money from other women (66% for millennial and Gen Z women).
▸ Women are twice as likely to invest in impact-based opportunities that support a better world for our
children.
A key barrier to achieving financial freedom for women is that they are not provided with the right resources or education to make informed investment decisions. In fact, women are often left out of conversations around investments altogether. RISE The Movement was created to change that. I saw a need for a more inclusive and diverse investment community – one that provided women with the financial education and confidence to fully participate and thrive in the investing world across all asset classes so they can make an impact.
At RISE, we facilitate collective investment choices, emphasize aligning investments with meaningful causes, and collaborate with experts to enhance our members' investment knowledge. With a strong commitment to gender equality and a mission to drive positive change, we are paving the way for a more inclusive and prosperous financial landscape.
